University Language Centre

Italian language practices are provided in two modes:

  • intensive, lasting 30 hours and taking place in September or February, on a daily basis (Monday to Friday);
  • extensive, with a duration of 45 hours and held from October to December (first semester) and from March to May (second semester), on a twice-weekly basis (twice a week).
    For access to the various classes (level A2, B1, B2, C1) there is a compulsory placement test, in order to assess the students' level of knowledge of the language and to define the best path for learning and improving Italian. The placement test is conducted remotely on the MICROSOFT TEAMS platform.

The A1 level practices are only available in Self Learning mode on the university platform called UNISTUDIUM.

INTENSIVE ITALIAN LANGUAGE PRACTICE

They take place in SEPTEMBER (first semester) and in FEBRUARY (second semester), and are reserved for students arriving at UNIPG to carry out their mobility period.

They last 30 hours with meetings of 2 hours a day (Monday to Friday) on the MICROSOFT TEAMS platform.

In order to take part in the Italian language courses, it is necessary to take the PLACEMENT TEST, which is useful for assessing the students' level and defining the best course for learning and improving Italian.

Limitations

In each semester, students may enrol in only one cycle of exercises (e.g. only A2, only B1, etc.).

The number of participants is LIMITED as interaction between CEL and student is necessary.

End-of-course tests

In order to participate in any end-of-course tests, on a date that is NOT included in the ordinary calls and that will be set by the CEL, students must have attended at least 75% of the total number of hours.

EXTENSIVE ITALIAN LANGUAGE PRACTICE

 They take place from OCTOBER to DECEMBER (first semester) and from MARCH to MAY (second semester).

They last 40 hours and involve two hours of exercises on two days a week in the CLA classrooms.

The exercises aim to meet the students' linguistic, communicative and motivational needs by offering activities and materials that help develop the four language skills: understanding, speaking, reading and writing. At the end of all Italian language courses, final tests are administered in order to check and assess the achievement of the objectives set by the CEFR - Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

As part of the Italian language exercises, whenever possible, educational activities are also planned on the Umbrian territory to discover and deepen knowledge of the cultural, historical-artistic and entrepreneurial fabric.
